Electricians Insurance requirements
Your first electricians insurance requirement will be Electricians Public Liability insurance which we can offer with indemnity limits of £1 million, £2 million, or £5 million.
As an electrician or electrical contractor you could be working on a factory, a building site, in someone’s home, or in any other number of locations. However experienced and careful you are accidents do happen and a claim could be made against you for a large sum of money especially if a member of the public is injured and it is deemed to be your fault.
Again, damage to someone else’s property could lead to an excessive amount of money being claimed from you and if you do not have the right electricians insurance this could lead to the end of your business.
You will also require Electricians Employers Liability insurance for those who have anyone working for you, be that person a direct employee, a trainee or apprentice, or a subcontractor who is working under your instructions. You are legally required to have this cover and we are able to provide it at a limit of £10 million. Click here to find out who is considered you employee.
There are a number of Electricians Insurance options that can be added to your policy and these include:
- Cover for your tools and business equipment.
- Cover for any plant which you may own and also for plant that you may have cause to hire in.
- Contract works.
- Personal accident cover.
- Commercial legal expenses cover.
When completing the online electricians insurance quote form it is very important to remember that terms and conditions may apply to the different elements of cover available. An example of this would be for tools cover which would be excluded if your tools are left in your vehicle overnight unless it is in a locked garage.
Please be careful to check that you are aware of any terms and conditions. Again, our staff are available to discuss the details of the cover with you if you would like and we trust, to give you peace of mind.
Finally, once you have your electricians insurance quotation, please ensure that you are aware of the endorsements that may apply. The endorsements appear with the quotation.
